Valpo Magazine Fall 2024 Issue
Valparaiso University commissioned me to create two large feature illustrations and a series of small stamp illustrations for an article in Valpo magazine, Valparaiso University's online alumni magazine. The story focuses on two students, Grace (from Indiana, studying abroad in Osaka) and Yui (from Osaka, studying at Valparaiso in Indiana). For a series of stamp-illustrations, I featured some major landmarks and elements from their story about studying abroad. For Grace, I featured Japanese lettering, kimono, famous food of okasa such as takoyaki, and a couple of famous Osaka landmarks. For Yui, I featured Chicago, Valpo’s torch logo, homework/study, Zion National Park, and a hamburger.
